I would like you to reply these 4 question.

  1. Your views?
  2. How can I improve?
  3. What could have been done better?
  4. If you were in my place what would you have done?

Is This What We Call Bokeh?

First attempt to do a "bokeh". I always thought it was easy to do, but reality hit hard on my face.

After this "desperate" attempt, I  resourced myself online about the procedures to a "bokeh" and whatever I did to achieve this so called "bokeh" was nothing of the sort.

So is this what we call "bokeh"?

Share your tips about bokeh. :)

Blogger Stats

In my quest to blog more often here I come with a something about "Blogger Stats".

After having typed the above line, I feel negativity taking over me; the desire to close this tab is growing stronger and stronger.

I happened to log-in my blogger account to see if there are some comments (Maybe you have been dropping comments like bombs) to moderate and I noticed the the stats link in the dashboard.

Immediately, my brain associated my Google Analytics Account and my Blogger Account. But it does not quite make sense. As far as I remember, I did not allow access to Google Analytics to make its "home" in my Blogger Dashboard.

To satisfy my curiosity, I clicked!

My first thought; take Google Analytics heart and transplant it to Blogger and tweak it for it.

Well, the transplant was not as big of a success; the heart did lose some mass.

Bottomline, it is has the feel of analytics and gives you enough insight on the ins and outs of your weblog.

Clicking here and there, I started to see a better picture of my weblog. I understood better sources of traffic and what pays and what not.

It will help me to optimise for traffic. Yay

I end here, I hope Blogger.com brethren enjoys the new "tab" they have been given of.

Peace out

At this point I have already posted this blog post and opened my next browser tab to continue browsing and I said to myself, I just forgot to write about the magnificent chart found in the stats tab.

They are all images. You can generate some using http://code.google.com/apis/chart/. It makes sense that they use home grown tools.

A simple Google returned what my mind was looking for. :)

Reading Differently

Credits :  ElementsOfPersuasion; DeviantArt
Fact is I love to read. During the college days, I did not missed the "library period". Rings something in your head? Yes? No?

"Library Period" is reserved for each class at college so that they can lend book from the college's library.

Reading brings enlightenment to one's being. At some point in time, I was young. I used to read lots of books. And at some point further in time, my activities with books receded and finally it saw a halt.

This was when I grew up. No Story Books. :/ I was big enough to read technical books; programming, database and the likes. You know, the sort that would normally blow your head's fuse or just explode like a dynamite.

So what? They were still books. They were physical. You could touch them and at times even sleep with them. (I know this is a bit gross). Eyes did not pain staring...

Got a hint about what I am talking about? Yes, e-books. Easy to find and easy to not finish them. Well it you just need to apply yourself a bit and you can finish a whole book.

Reading my e-books I end up being too long in front of my computer, staring and making an effort to read more and more. At times, end up not reading them at all or reading them partially.

It is 2010 and changes need to happen.

I am working, so I can afford to buy stuffs.

I am working, I tend up to come home tired and want to rest.

So there is no time to read. :/ And then I read a Mauritian blogger who bought an Amazon Kindle. That got me thinking I need to have one.

Think! It does help you read on the move. And I thought even harder since I have used an iPad at work.

So I step back a little and start thinking harder and harder until my head is about to explode. You must be happy? Well, don't be. I didn't let it happen and proof is I am writing this.

Below are all the options I considered:
  1. iPad
  2. Amazon Kindle
  3. HP Slate
  4. Netbook
  5. Tablet PC
Most probably, I will be going for an Amazon Kindle. I will be a little heart broken, there will be no coloured magazines for me.

The Amazon Kindle is not planned for the immediate. Most probably, after October I will buy one. Till then, I can afford to take rest. ;)

Yesterday itself I requested to join their Facebook group, where all their(Yes, I am now family) our activities are concentrated.

I am not used to click on the "Discussions" tab. I clicked and yeah, it is quite a busy one. I said to myself, "will check this out later"

Basically, you request to join the group and an admin will come towards you, she/he will ask you some questions, you reply and if approved, you are a member. Simple. :)

You will be asked to show some of your photos. I didn't have many to show. Want to know which one? Mina - The Neko

If you would see things straight, that means I will be posting more photos now on this blog. :)

If you are interested in photography, do join the group and be an active member. This will help you genes to kick  and be more into it. :)

What matters the most to you?

I was reading an article at unclutterer about "What matters the most to you?". And it made me think what matters the most to me.

If I look at this question at the other way round; it would be "What I would like to really do?"

Here is a quick list

  1. Maintain a website that people would use and be of some help to them
  2. Learn guitar
  3. Master Photography
  4. Do more blogging (Did you noticed? Posts are more regular now.)
What about you? What matters the most to you?

I have opted to write something about this topic so that I can keep the momentum.

Learn from your mistakes

It is human to err. But, it is wrong to err for long. Fact is I am learning guitar since long. I should really quote learning; "learning".
Credits: DreamcatcherOfGrim (DeviantArt)

Let me first introduce you to my guitar. It is a classical guitar; Yamaha C70. Quite a versatile one and I was recommended to start my rock star career with. :P

Nylon Strings man. They say, it helps you develop your skills. Have I been able to? Truth is, yes, I have been able to develop my motor skills a little bit. But...

I am on a boat alone in the ocean of music. Man, it's hard. Well, not really. I just don't have the proper guide.

And now am I at the purpose why I wrote this post. I quite messed up.

First, guitar out of tune. Well not really. I don't know where is my guitar tuner's manual. The settings were not set correctly. I know it does not makes sense. It ought to be something simple with which you have orgasm when tuning your guitar. Yes, you do have orgasms. They are so big that you are not able to tune your guitar.

To stop having such uncontrollable orgasms you need to flip a small switch on the side of my guitar tuner. This was not until yesterday that I discovered this small toy. Well, the purpose of this switch.

I am new to music. I said MUSIC. You know when you strum your guitar, it produces melodious sounds and you feel gay happy. You do not obtain happiness just like that. You need to go though some major steps first. Like being wrong.

(Drum roll please: *tada*)

Introducing Audio Tuner
Audio Tuner
Available even for your mobile. Isn't that good news. And...And it is free. Isn't that great? What? I heard it isn't. Well, I hope you have a painful death and you got no penny left to pay for your funeral.

With this tool I have been able to master and become the master of guitar tuning. :) I feel pride pounding on my chest almost ripping it off. (:s Scary)

When I got my guitar in tune, tried to see the difference with my guitar tuner. And hell yeah, by chance I said, "let me flip that switch". Yes, there it is; I no longer got overwhelming orgasms. That made my day.

Strum Strum Strum Strum... Until your hand is worn off. Woops, I was strumming the wrong way. Better be late that never. My friend Neekesh pointed that very big mistake to me and I have tried to correct it.

Got to work on my up strokes now. :) Wish me luck people.

I don't really know what to talk about. I end here.

Peace.

Timmy has been saved!

Look at "him", innocent and victim of "inhumanity" of some retarded people. Yes, I said it, retarded. I don't know what you will be thinking about how I Christianised  him; "Timmy".

If you asked me why Timmy? I would probably say that Timmy because it is kick-ass as a name, it makes you feel ticklish and it feels good to call "Timmy".

Fortunately Timmy has been saved.Woops, I haven't yet said why. Here it is; Some retarded people instead of finding Timmy a home, they opted to abandon throw him away in a wasteland. Would you be horrified to know that the plot was actually a closed one? Where Timmy cannot move out? Yes, Timmy couldn't go outside.

This would without doubt resulted in his death out of famine. I asked myself again and again, how can people be so cold hearted. Reader are you cold hearted? If yes, get yourself raped and go suicide. (I would love to watch you die out of famine)

One of the options would be I adopt Timmy. Unfortunately, this was not feasible. I already got like 9 dogs at home. Yes, I got nine. You read it right.

The only option left find Timmy a home. I tried to contact friends and relatives who would be willing to make Timmy family.

All the attempts failed. No one was ready to take Timmy in. I can't really force them. This was no reason to have hope.

I got Timmy a carton box house for him and fed him everyday.

*Tada*, last Sunday, someone who lives nearby wanted to adopt a puppy. That is another story. Somehow, she ended up adopting Timmy. Isn't that great?

Today, I hear Timmy is having a good life. Live long Timmy. I will be visiting him one of these days.

I intended to write a post requesting potential adopters to be humane and give Timmy a life.

How do you feel about this? It is a common occurrence in Mauritius. I don't think people will change. Cruelty towards animals will continue to happen.

"The Web Project" - A tiny little weblog

You must be wondering another weblog in the "blogosphere". Right? Well, this one has another story... Let me tell you the story.. (Wasn't it supposed to be a review?)

The Web Project

The Author is quite passionate about his weblog. He is a Mauritian just like me and a friend to me. He does not throws new contents everyday, but he does writes something now and then. His, I said it well, his name is Nitish. For the time being let's just know him by the name of "Nitish". :p

Look at the name, "The Web Project". Well not that fancy as a name but you get it right? What it is about. It is my friend's web project (Long story cut short: one of the many assignments we have at university). He owns the platform. What's great about this? It is his. (+1).

What is greater? He can also write articles. Isn't that great? IMHO, it is. :P

Time to share the link to the weblog. Here we go: http://thewebproject.iblogger.org.

It is a minimal blogging platform. As i would be saying "still in its infancy". Don't you love to see small kids? Well see this one. It has got the basic parts, ability to write new posts and comment on posts.

Sorry folks, there is no RSS feeds and email notifications for the time being. *Work In Progress Sign*. :P

That was about passion for the platform. Hey hey, i know it has not got the bells and whistles of the big guys; talk WordPress, Blogger and the other dudes, but respect.

This weblog is not a "niche" blog. It has its own things going over there. First of all it is a personal weblog. (First Thing First :P). Well, Nitish writes his mind off. Maybe we will be seeing some rants and raves. Who knows better? Nitish?

Well, this was an "amateurish" approach to introducing a weblog to you. I hope you pay your respect for this dude.

And yes, hey dudes and dudettes. I wrote a something. :P Catch up with you soon.

The last five months of my life

January 02 I last wrote something. Way to go Neelesh. :) May the 31st, the end of the month of May.And tomorrow, a start of a new month, June.

June? Well, after the 7th, I will be officially in holidays. Right now, I am in mini-holidays. :) On June 7th, I will be having my presentation for my dissertation. Aie, more works need to  be done. :)

What has the five last months of my life been like? I believe, refreshing. Taking a new look at the way I see things. And and...

I got my driving license. Want to know how?

Let me walk you through the whole learning how to drive again and the driving test mumbo jumbo. ;P

In 2007, I did somewhat "learn" how to drive a car. The learning process was a painful one, as I did so by going to tuitions, "avec auto-école". I don't have anything particular against them, but... The tutor, did not showed me how to use the brake. This is normally not something to be "teached", but, you should be at ease with it. As far as I remember, I never touched the brakes. People out there, look out for this. Second important thing, the implied "code de route" that was learnt and examined in the oral test, was not being put totally in practice. Want to know why? I did never took the left most lane first on a three way carriage and then shift to the middle lane to then turn to the right. In short, "auto-école" was an eye opening experience. Not every tutor is the same. My friend Yasir recommended, someone to me. He taught well. I think, he is Yashvin's uncle. (See with Yashvin). :)

For me, I did learn how to drive in a private car and took my test in a private car. Yes, I passed the test. :) My uncle taught me how to drive. :) For the curious ones, my cousin and me took the test on the same day and we both passed the test.

Side note: Out of 50+ people going on test per day only about 5 pass their test. That sucks. Where are we going people?

Does it look like, I just talked about all the bad stuffs and leave the good stuffs aside? If yes, so be it. :)

What's next I will be talkin?
My whole 5 monthish something was time spent at university, assignment, programming, test, exams and end of year project.

Painful people! That was painful. :)

That must be it, the last five months of my life.

What about the remaining months of this year of my life?
I can only say, I got tons to catch up. :)

I forgot something...("Something something in the month of May" LOL). I did vote for the legislative for the first time. I am pretty "old" and this is my first time. Well, the last time, I was younger by 2 days, so I was not allowed to vote. :) 14 + 2 = 16 :)

I hope to catch up with you sooner. :)

02 January 2010

It is 2010

2010 and nothing new; got a dissertation to complete, I need to continue learning how to play guitar. Well, one thing is new; day by day I am even closer to my final examinations. What does that means? I will be free. *Yay*.

Indeed it is 2010 and I don't know what to write.

This is happening a bit too much.

Happy new year and enjoy.
